Immerse yourself in the history, culture and stunning scenery of the Scottish Highlands. Wander through medieval alleyways and admire ancient castles. Explore the mystical landscapes of Scotland's most famous island, whilst learning a word or two in Gaelic. Along the way, search for mythical beasts, discover some famous film locations and try your hand at the Great Highlands Bagpipes.

Edinburgh City

ITINERARY

DAY 1: Edinburgh to Fort Augustus

Welcome to Scotland's capital city! Today we'll start with a welcome briefing and a walking tour through Edinburgh's historic streets. We'll wander along the Old Town Mile, marvel at Edinburgh Castle, and explore hidden "closes." After lunch, we'll set off to the Highlands and then wrap up the day on the shores of Loch Ness.

DAY 2: Loch Ness

Start the day with a scenic boat trip on Loch Ness, exploring its mysterious waters. On the way to the Isle of Skye we'll stop at the iconic Eilean Donan Castle, steeped in history and picturesque views. By the end of the afternoon we'll have made it to Portree, the colourful and cute capital of Skye. With its charming harbour and stunning backdrops its hard not to fall in love with it.

DAY 3: Old Man of Storr

Today is all about exploring the rugged natural beauty of Skye. We'll begin with a hike to the Old Man of Storr, soaking in breathtaking views. If you make it to the top you'll be treated to a couple of bagpipes tunes! Next up is a visit to the ruins of an ancient castle for a glimpse into Skye's history. End the day exploring the Skye's enchanting landscape evoking tales of giants and fairies. For the evening you can grab dinner at your leisure in Portree.

DAY 4: The Fairy Pools
 

Our day will start with a dip in the crystal-clear waters of the Fairy Pools. After yesterday's hike your legs might need some cold water therapy! We'll enjoy a hearty local lunch at a nearby café, offering stunning views of the Cuillin Hills. For the rest of the afternoon we'll soak in the picturesque landscape of Skye at Sligachan Bridge and back in Portree.

DAY 5: Hogwarts Express
 

This morning we say goodbye to Skye and take the ferry to Mallaig. This allows us to explore some of Scotland's hidden white sand beaches and go for one more icy dip! Before lunch we'll get up close to the infamous Glenfinnan Viaduct (aka Harry Potter viaduct) for a glimpse of the famous steam train. For the afternoon, we'll meander our way to Fort William, take in the views of the UK's highest mountain and then check in to our 19th Century Highland Lodge.

DAY 6: Glencoe & Hagrid's Hut
 

For the first part of our day we'll take a short trip to the Clachaig Gully & Glencoe, where the famous set of Hagrid's hut from Harry Potter was located. Whether you're a Harry Potter fan or not, Glencoe's views will take your breath away, and might feel familiar (if you're a James Bond fan!). If you're brave enough, we'll take another icy dip in some secret river gullies. For our final dinner together we'll enjoy a hearty highland meal. If you haven't tried haggis at this point, here's your chance!

DAY 7: Back to Edinburgh 

This morning we bid farewell to the Highlands and make the three hour trip back to Edinburgh. As we wind our way down South we'll make a few stop-offs to enjoy the scenery and pick up lunch. Back in Edinburgh, our transport will drop you back at your respective accommodations.

Pricing

​

The total price of this trip is USD $2,995.

​

This listed price is per person, based on double occupancy. If you're happy to share a room, you'll be matched with another solo traveler of the same gender. If you're travelling with a friend, please let us know and we'll match you up.

​

If you would rather a private room, this is available for an additional cost of USD $1100 (on top of the trip price). When you pay your deposit, please let us know of your choice.

​

In order to reserve your spot on the trip, we first request a brief 10 minute video call. If the trip is right for you, you'll then be invited to pay your deposit of USD $175. This deposit is fully refundable for 7 days after payment. The remaining balance of the trip will be due by midnight on 15th February, 2025.

Activity Level

 

We’ll be spending a lot of time outside and on out feet. In some cases, this will involve dirt and/or cobblestone paths. The most physical day will be when we do the Old Man of Storr hike, so you should feel comfortable walking for at least 3 hours uphill and 1 hour downhill.

When booking your international flights, the best option is Edinburgh International Airport (aka Edinburgh Turnhouse Airport), with airport code EDIIf you're flying into other airports, please let us know and we'll be happy to suggest travel options to Edinburgh.
