BOTSWANA & ZAMBIA

DATES:

October 13 - 19, 2019

PRICE:

$2,100 USD (≈ £1,710 GBP)

LENGTH:

7 days, 6 nights

Botswana & Zambia, two neighbouring Southern African beauties, are an adventurer's dream. One of these gems has the most dense population of African elephants, and the other is home to the largest waterfall on Earth.

What's so unique about our Botswana & Zambia trip? From elephant encounters & safari game drives to helicopter tours above the world’s largest waterfall, we’ll be enjoying some of most jaw-dropping experiences in all of Africa. When it comes to wildlife, there’s nowhere on Earth quite like Botswana so we thought we’d spend a couple of nights camping under the stars in Chobe National Park before crossing over to Zambia for some “Mosi-oa-Tunya” adventures.

What does Botswana & Zambia have to do with us?  At the start of 2018 we embarked on 5-month Southern African and out of all the countries we visited, we felt Botswana gave us the greatest wildlife encounters, whilst Zambia guaranteed some ridiculously thrilling adventures. Having tried, tested and perfected this exact route, we figured it was about time we'd share it with guests from around the world.  Please note that, for this particular trip, it will be just Ross acting as guide. Travis will be scoping out future adventures in Central America!

Day 1

DAY 01: Dumela Botswana (13th Oct)

Arrive in Kasane (Northern Botswana) and check in to the accommodation. We'll kick off the week by getting to know each other over drinks & dinner at our lodge along the Chobe River.

- Overnight at our accommodation along the Chobe River

- Dinner included

DAY 02: Drift Down the Zambezi (14th Oct)

After a hearty Botswanan breakfast, we'll check out of our hotel and start the day on the lookout for hippos whilst cruising down the Zambezi River (if we're lucky we'll also spot a few crocodiles gliding through the water). To break up the day we'll grab lunch at a local cafe in Kasane and then head on our first game drive in Chobe National Park (which has one of the most dense populations of African elephants!). The day will end at our campsite in the bush, where we'll grab a fire-side supper, enjoy the sunset and head to bed under the stars.

- Overnight in Chobe National Park

- Breakfast, lunch & dinner included

DAY 03: Camping & Game Drives (15th Oct)

After a good nights sleep we will grab a small breakfast and head out for our first-morning game drive in Chobe National Park. After a full morning out in the bush, we'll break for brunch, give our eyes and mind a rest, before heading out on another afternoon game drive. By the time sun sets, we'll be back at our campsite to enjoy some sun downers and another delicious dinner at our campsite.

- Overnight in Chobe National Park

- Breakfast, lunch & dinner included

DAY 04: Crossing Borders (16th Oct)

Today we leave Chobe National Park, but not before one last campsite breakfast, morning game drive and (hopefully) some more elephant encounters. We will then make our way to the Chobe / Zambezi riverside where we'll hop on a ferry for a short crossing over to Zambia. Once passports have been stamped, we'll hop into our transport and head to our next stop, Livingstone. After settling into the accommodation, we'll enjoy an evening learning more about Zambia over dinner.

- Overnight in Livingstone, Zambia

- Breakfast & dinner included (lunch not included)

DAY 05: Bird's Eye View (17th Oct)

Wake up at your own leisure, enjoy a hearty Livingstonian breakfast and wander around town at your own pace. Being located close to Livingstone downtown (and all the markets) you'll have an opportunity to explore on foot. We'll come together for lunch before heading to our next activity, a helicopter flight over Victoria Falls. There's no better way to introduce you to one of the world's Natural Wonders than from up above!

- Overnight in Livingstone, Zambia

- Breakfast included (lunch and dinner not included)

DAY 06: Devil's Pool (18th Oct)

This will be a morning you won't forget! We'll wake up early so we can enjoy breakfast before making our way to Devil's Pool, where you'll have the chance to see Victoria Falls up-close-and-personal. After a quick Zambezi dip, we'll head into the Victoria Falls National Park to experience the falls from another side, so you can put its immensity into perspective. We'll then dip our toes into Zimbabwe (legally!), then end the day at one of our favourite cafes in Livingstone, listening to some local music and enjoying some Zambian culinary classics.

- Overnight in Livingstone, Zambia

- Breakfast & dinner included (lunch not included)

DAY 07: Livingstone Farewell (19th Oct)

Waking up for our final morning, we'll get one last time to be around our new friends before saying our goodbyes. The trip concludes at check-out.
